One individual has died in a water incident at Goat Island this afternoon.
Emergency products and services have been known as to a bunch of 3 divers who have been having problem within the water at round 1.35pm, police stated.
“CPR was once carried out on some of the divers however unfortunately they died on the scene,” stated a police spokesperson.
The 2 different divers have been unhurt and didn’t require shipping, in keeping with St John spokeswoman Siobhan Campbell.
3 helicopters, a primary reaction car and one ambulance have been on the scene.
Police say enquiries are ongoing to decide the cases of the incident.
A person who was once having a picnic with circle of relatives close to the seashore stated he heard sirens wailing and choppers flying overhead.
He informed the Bring in he noticed paramedics giving CPR to an individual who were pulled out of the water.
“It was once very windy and the waves are top,” he stated. Government closed the seashore after the incident.
Water Protection New Zealand stated this summer time has been the worst for drownings since 2015.
